Benoit Camus is one of the great mystery men of Beaujolais and his wines are highly soght after but hard to find even in his home country.
Chateau Roulant is 100% gamay from Benoit’s home vineyard outside the village of Ville-sur-Jarnioux in the far south of Beaujolais.
It’s medium bodied, with dark fruit and a wonderful notion of minerality. There’s structure but energy here too and the length of maceration has made this an excellent wine at table.
Brilliant, brilliant value - enjoy with a minute steak, simple salad and small helping of nicely roasted potatoes.
