Sauvignon blanc and pinot blanc from the Pooks Hill vineyard in Totness. The vines here are 30 years old and planted in black sand over petrified schist. The fruit was direct-pressed to large oak casks for fermentation and elevage.
A restrained, snappy and savoury style of fruit here – reflective of the cool year – albeit with gentle honeysuckle aromatics, slightly creamy texture and plenty of length on the palate.
A wonderful offering from Anton and the team and presently one of the best-value wines in the shop.
