Seriously delicious, medium body, aromatic red wine. Coming off old vines and and grown on limestone soils this wine is deeply concentrated in flavour and shining in all its varietal joy but there is a distinct vibrancy and weightlessness to it. The small portion of blended macabeu also emphasises this character of the wine, keeping things super juicy and refreshing. But this is nothing new of Jordi wines, he has a special way of making incredibly elegant, bright and lifted red wines. Very gently handled the whole way, this wine was fermented in stainless steel and aged in old barrels. Jordi is the 8th generation of farmers in his family, only working with a very few hectares in Tarragona, Catalunya….we feel super fortunate to be able to work with and enjoy his wines. I drank this wine with no food and throughly enjoyed it but if I was to eat something, a napoli pasta or red meat that’s not too gamey would probably be perfecta.
