l'egrappille MO(S)O 2020

A$108.00

Auvergne, France
¾ Hybrids, ¼ Gamay d’Auvergne
ABV: 13%

Catherine Dumora is the most maternal farmer we know.  Her approach to vine management focussed almost exclusively on health and well-being with an emphasis on developing natural resistance with a very limited use of sprays including homoeopathic and herbal applications.

In 2020, MO(S)O was vinified as a light, still red wine and is, without question, one of the most delicious examples of the style we’ve tasted in the last year.

This is aromatic, earthen elements mixed with intensely delicious fruit, and the palate, while being relatively light, has great depth of flavour and excellent tension thanks to the presence of the hybrid varieties.

Catherine's 1.5 hectares of old gamay sits on a west facing slope of regionally unique terroir, the typical basalt of the region here giving way to granite, schist and quartz with deposits of calcareous matter.

Serve this cool - around 11-11C is nice and enjoy as a show stopping aperitif.
