l'egrappille MO(S)O 2019

A$97.00

Auvergne, France
Sparkling Gamay d’Auvergne
ABV: 14%

Another remarkable cuvee from one of the most unique producers in all of France.

Catherine Dumora is the most maternal farmer we know.  Her approach to vine management focussed almost exclusively on health and well-being with an emphasis on developing natural resistance with a very limited use of sprays including homoeopathic and herbal applications.

The MO(S)O 2019 is very delicately sparkling – providing lift and sense of lightness – with just a touch of residual sugar providing depth and concentration. Textbook varietal fruit and well balanced acidity make this an exceptional example of craft – carrying strong emotion but also a playfulness that is undeniably alluring. Drink with friends and loved ones as this one really sets a festive mood.

Catherine's 1.5 hectares of old gamay sits on a west facing slope of regionally unique terroir, the typical basalt of the region here giving way to granite, schist and quartz with deposits of calcareous matter.

This is a very, very good match for Sichuan food.
