Description
One of the most fascinating wine producers in all of France and maybe anywhere in the world — Conservatoire Des Vignes Anciennes. Cyril and Karine Alonso are situated in the commune of Marchampt in Beaujolais. The vineyard here is home to over 140 varieties of vitis vinifera as well as a number of wild non-vinifera varieties, all of which are used to create wonderfully distinctive, expressive and stable wines.
The 2021 Chants Vibratoirs is made from a distinctly aromatic chardonnay clone (musqué meaning musky i.e. aromatic). This is plump and youthful in texture, with various shades of white and yellow fruits and layers of flavour and matter from time on lees, all carried by perfectly judged acidity. Really beautiful for roast chicken or creamy cheese.
