Description:
This is pretty amazing gamay d’Auvergne from Catherine Dumora who is the incredible talent behind northern Auvergne winery L’egrappille. The 2017 109 comes from an ancient vineyard on a basalt plateau just outside the village of Blanzat. This is deep red and with extraordinarily delicious earthy, forest-y fruit. It’s precise and very pure and, in terms of sheer quality, one of the most brilliant wines in the shop.
Serve at about 15C and allow it warm a little. We would enjoy this with dinner - it goes really nicely with well marbled beef.
