Piquenique Heritage Apple 2021

A$90.00

San Juan Islands, United States Apple ABV: 7.5

Beyond rare. Coming from the most isolated island in the San Juans: Waldron Island. This is comprised of many different varieties and is produced as a rolling ferment throughout the picking season. Tess and Nic have been privileged to have access to this incredibly special fruit from the Arndt family at Sandy Point Farm. Waldron Island is closed to development and generally to visitors and there is no running water or electricity on the island and no ferry. To have access means to be invited and to be able to create from this distinct terroir is a gift.

Due to the variety of ripening times in the orchard, producing this as a rolling ferment adds incredible and subtle layers of complexity. A cuvée of true apple purity; the acidity is perfectly balanced with grassy and earthen qualities that compliments the savoury fruit making this some of the best pure apple cider we’ve had in a long time.
