Sylvain Martinez is a softly spoken and humble gentleman and his wines evolve slowly and are particularly deep.
His grolleau grows on sandy soil near the village of La Thoureil in Anjou and in 2020 the conditions were near perfect.
This is fresh, earthen and is wonderfully balanced - an absolute star on the dinner table.
