Description
A rare jewel from one of France’s most compelling producers, and a very serious collector’s item.
Super-ripe pinot gris from 2013 (Anders’ first harvest in the Ardèche) which was run to barrel in the spring of 2014 and stayed untouched and untopped in barrel for 10 years before bottling, during which time it has become deliciously rich, saline and oxidative. It’s now been bottled in 500ml format — a small bottle of powerful, mature wine.
Living and working in Valvignères, Anders brings to his winemaking years of high-end sommelier experience in Copenhagen. His approach to wine is studious, patient and very poetic, as evinced by his beautiful writing on the subject. His wines, farmed and made alongside his partner Anne, are usually the result of extended periods of elevage, and are always very memorable.
