Description
From a great year, this is chenin blanc grown on schist and macerated in amphora. Rich, concentrated and gently mineral, with a core of brisk primary fruit accentuated by some lightly honeyed oxidative character.
Sylvain’s plots sit on the southern bank of the Loire Valley about 30 minutes east of Angers. He makes some of our favourite wines on the planet, his chenins possessing all of the depth and power one could hope to find in a wine grown on black Anjou schist.
