Description
Biodynamic chenin blanc from Saumur, vinified in barrel.
Les Clos Maurice has been producing wine in Varrains since the late 1700s and is now, as of quite recently, helmed by esteemed winemaker Nicolas Reau.
This is a classical, medium-bodied and ever-so-slightly fatty expression of the variety – taut and balanced with abundant leesy flavours of butter and yeast balanced nicely by some grapefruit-y zing. Distinctly regional, with orchard fruits and minerality.
