Description
Phenomenal sparkling from Champagne luminary Charles Dufour, who since 2010 has been making wine from his family’s vineyards in the Côte des Bar under the Domaine Françoise Martinot label (named after his mother).
The soils here in Chervey are a fairly typical blend of limestone and clay, with the vines farmed biodynamically. The base for this wine is 100% pinot noir from 2020 which, after an extended process of fermentation and elevage, was eventually disgorged in June, 2025.
Deep, powerful and layered with regional green apple, white strawberry and brioche character, this is of quite staggering quality and would be very hard to beat as a special bottle for Christmas or New Year’s.
