100% negociant since the 2023 vintage, Ryan works with a number of terrific growers and sites in and around the Yarra, which are predominantly clay loam and vary from the rich soils of Healesville to the dry and shallow topsoil from hard-working vines in St Andrews.
Bright Star comes from 30+ year-old syrah vines at the Butterman’s Track vineyard in St. Andrews. The fruit was direct-pressed to stainless steel for 18 months of fermentation and elevage before bottling.
An appetising vermillion in the glass, there’s a gently candied or stewed character to the core of red fruit, with a delicate enough phenolic presence to make this very quaffable in the sun.
