From Australian-born Trish Nelson, who, alongside her partner Piero, manages a wonderful property of vines, fruit trees, olives and bees in the northern part of Lazio.
This comes from sangiovese and offers a range of varietal character whilst leaning slightly into the riper side of the spectrum, with darker, slightly mineral fruit, nice grip and some savoury black olive character – albeit still with abundant freshness.
Deliciously rustic but ultimately very classical and versatile, and so distinctly central-Italian.
