Description
Beautiful rosé made by Rodrigo Filipe, whose winery is located one-hour drive north of Lisbon. With nine hectares of vines growing on red clay and limestone, surrounded by untamed wild grasses and trees, the vineyards have been organically certified since 2006 and the winery free of the use of sulphur since 2010.
The site benefits from the cooling winds of the Atlantic Ocean, allowing Rodrigo to make fresh and digestible wines despite the warmth of the afternoon sun. Fermentations are all in stainless steel, with all the wines going to barrel for elevage.
This comes from the local grape touriga nacional. Aromatically, there’s a delicious, gentle impression of soil, with a compact core of pink fruit and stone fruit and the faint memory of sugar adding depth and richness. A classical style with restrained fruit tempered nicely by both oxygen and wood, and a crystalline yet round texture.
