Description
South Australian royalty James Erskine is back with another magnificent suite of wines, this time from the high, high-quality 2024 harvest. We always love these wines for their delicious fruit and super-precise winemaking but in 2024, the wines also show perhaps the most minerality that we’ve ever tasted from these sites.
This comes from the Wood vineyard in Clarendon, owned by Ralph and farmed by Fiona and comprising bushvines planted over sand and ironstone which have never been irrigated, and which today produce wonderfully concentrated, detailed and site-expressive grapes.
A delicate shade of red in the glass, this is pretty, aromatic and savoury, with red fruit, earthen porcini and regional woody spice characters and a light and fine tannic structure.
