Description:

Gorgeous négoce wines from Auvergne micro-domaine Les Ussels.

Auvergne natives Amelie and Alex Desanges-Guilin farm a little over 1 hectare across 3 vineyard plots around Claremont Ferrand, all of which are planted to Gamay d’Auvergne. A young couple, both former-sommeliers and now young parents, they now manage their home property as an agroforestry project, with vines interplanted with trees and all work completed without the use of chemical inputs.

Supplementary to the bottlings from their exquisite and very low-yielding home block, the négoce wines make up a large proportion of their production, with fruit coming from good friends in the Languedoc-Rousillon, Julien Fabregac and Vincent Lafage.

2023 was an exceptional vintage, with all the wines boasting deliciously fluid and expressive fruit.
This cuvee comes from macerated grenache blanc and grenache gris, and direct-press grenache noir. Fluid and nourishing, with flowers, blood orange, crushed rocks and pepper. We recommend serving this at cellar temperature – not too cold – for maximum enjoyment.
