Description:
From the ever-impressive Kyatt Dixon and his team, this is dry-grown cabernet sauvignon from a parched north facing sandy hill 5km south of Mt Gambier.
Pale pink, crystalline and delicate, with a nose of peppery varietal leaves and spices and some delicious, lightly candied berry fruit. Despite the lower ABV, the expression of fruit here is a touch riper than in 2022, with a lovely leatherwood honey note nestled among the grassier elements.
We love cabernet when vinified as a rosé. The pyrazine characters of the variety provide complexity and savouriness to a style which can often veer into simplicity and sweetness.
