Description:
From the variety Cartoixa Vermell, a grey-pink skinned variety of Xarello, macerated on skins for about a month, this is delicate albeit pithy, savoury and saline, with reductive aromas of curry leaf opening into a complex palate with various shades of citrus and lots of earthen calcareous soil expression on the back-palate.
Originally from Piedmont, Antonella and Massimo moved in 2005 to Bonastre in Penedès, where they fell in love with the region’s old and often-abandoned vineyards and the local varieties planted therein, and started producing wine a few years later. Today, they farm 22 hectares, 6 of which are planted to vines, comprising all local (and in some cases nearly extinct) varieties.
