Description:
100% zweigelt (aka rotburger) grown on quartzy primary rock with very little topsoil, this was totally destemmed prior to fermentation and elevaged in old barrels, as is customary for Karl and Eva.
A wonderful introduction to the red wines from the domaine, this is medium-weighted and mineral with elegant aromas of wood leading to a ripe palate of dark red and purple fruit mingling with some lightly tertiary earthen nuance from the time in bottle.
A gorgeous Burgundian style which would be very much at home served alongside some classic French bistro mains.
