Description
James Madden completed his first harvest under the Scintilla label in 2017 and since then has slowly and humbly etched out a reputation as one of the most exciting young winemakers in the country. Working with a number of sites in the Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale and Barossa, and now with a 36-acre property in Basket Range purchased in 2021, James is industrious, prolific and creative and in the past few years has made some of the most compelling local wines we’ve tasted.
Flo’s Fizz is our first taste of the 2025 vintage – a pet-nat style sparkling white which has been bottled relatively young to capture all of its glorious youthful energy. From a direct-press blend of white and red fruit, there’s a large portion of savagnin from McLaren Vale as well as pinot, gamay, chardonnay and pinot gris from the Adelaide Hills.
Crystalline and almost bone-dry with lots of gorgeous fresh-cut apples and pears as well as some more savoury yeasty nuance, this presents really superb value and we are very much looking forward to pouring it again and again over the next few months.
