Description
James Madden makes some of our favourite wines in the country from his shed, nestled into a steep valley in the Basket Range, where he farms a number of orchards and makes wine with fruit sourced from a number of top-quality nearby organic growers.
The fruit here comes from the Lucy M farm next door to Scintilla, and saw 40 days on skins as whole berries and bunches prior to 11 months rest in old barrels prior to release. It’s been macerated for long enough to create a nicely phenolic wine with layers of vermouth-like (and distinctly) regional herbs and spices, while the style is fresh and fruity enough to be enjoyed with or without food.
