Description

The eagerly-anticipated new vintage from Tomas Torres is here!

The wines of Celler Tomas Torres, made in Carricola just south of Valencia, are veritable staples here at Public. The whites are chalky and saline and the reds full of joyous Mediterranean sunshine, and everything is medium-bodied and very fresh thanks to the calcareous chalky soils.

With Vicent Tomas having now retired from winemaking duties, the wines are now vinified by local vigneron Cris Vanyó – a totally seamless transition, with the quality still brilliant and the character of the fruit and site still very much on show.

This cuvee is lightly macerated malvasia, grown on chalk and vinified in tank. With lots of chalk aromatically and a saline and savoury expression of fruit in the realm of peach and green almond, this is a satisfyingly delicate, low-ABV style which will make a wonderful aperitif or accompaniment to lighter dishes.

It’s great to have these back in the shop!
