Sancerre-born Benoit Rosenberger farms three hectares of gamay d’auvergne from 50-80 year old vines split across small parcels, around 350-500 metres above sea level.
This comes from old vines of gamay d’auvergne planted over volcanic basalt and quartz. A combination of pressed juice and whole bunches was macerated together for 4 days before being pressed off to stainless steel vats for elevage.
A deep, mineral and very high quality rosé from one of the region’s most exciting producers, and a wonderful point of reference for fans of the brilliant gamay d’auvergne wines of L’egrappille/Catherine Dumora, this comes very highly recommended.
