Domaine de Kalathas Ela! Le Français 2021

A$208.00

Tinos, Greece
Syrah
13.5% ABV.

A very exciting new edition to the repertoire of Domaine de Kalathas, this is now one of the most magnificent wines in the building.

This project was started in 2011 by former Parisian graphic designer Jerome Charles Binda who discovered these ancient vineyards on the Cycladic island of Tinos, many of which are around 200 years old, and today makes some of the most distinctive, pure and gastronomic wines we know of. All of Jerome’s vineyards are ungrafted, providing the wines with almost immeasurable depth yet always with a sense of delicacy and restraint.

This comes from more recent plantings of syrah which, despite the relatively young vine age, are already starting to express some of the magic of this incredible place. It was fermented and aged entirely in stainless steel.

Ultra-precise and utterly well-made, this is concentrated, deep, varietal and very pure, with a dark style of fruit, delicious olive brine character, elegant tannic structure and perfectly supporting acidity.
